San Francisco multi-instrumentalist Sid Uberoi has never held back…..
With a deep breath, he unleashes a strong melodic voice backed up by distorted guitars. Equally comfortable in a rock band as solo, you'll find only emotion here, intense and dynamic.
He boils it down, "Me, I'm trying to write classics. Nothing else. This is my contribution to the Canon of Classics."
Rooted in Indian Classical music (ragas, qawwalis), fed by 80s and 90s pop music (Bollywood and American), rock and metal (Soundgarden, Quicksand, Stone Temple Pilots, Mother Love Bone, Nine Inch Nails and more), the music blooms into something fresh and new but also "timeless and classic. Unique and universal," he says. The sound is like Deftones, Incubus and Satchel.
A veteran of the Bay Area music scene (Blight, Throebuckle, The Barbarian Tide), Sid started organizing his own concerts as a young teen in the early 1990s, then to local clubs, then to shows in every city he lived in through the years, on both US coasts. Equal part community-organizer and wandering artist, he founded the Fremont (California) Teen Center along the way, so teens after him could have always a place for their songs and audiences.
Though there have been day jobs, the music never stopped. Press play and just listen.
